Mommy And Jiro

Picture for Mother's Day. Mommy and Jiro are going through the Ninja Family photo album.

Jiro : "Mommy, that man looks stupid."

Mommy : "Of course dear. That's your father."

Here's a story about me and my mother.

I must have been 4 or 5 years old when I saw a documentary about Australia on tv. The place looked mighty cool, what with all those kangaroos, koalas, tasmanian devils, dingos, and patagonian chick snakes. So I asked my mom if I could go to Australia.

"Sure you can" she assured me. "You just need to walk towards the southwest and, eventually, you'll get there".

And so out the door I went, hiking to Australia.

Three days later, the police brought me back home.

"I gather that you didn't make it to Australia" said mom. I just looked down between my feet, ashamed at my failure.

"Well" said mom, "if at first you don't succeed, try again. Turn around and get back on the road right now! Australia's that way" she added with enthousiasm. So out the door I went again, walking to Australia.

It only took a few hours this time for the police to bring me back home. Apparently, as the police told us, mom and I, you just can't walk into Australia. What is that place? Mordor? I blame the airlines lobby.

Mom was, of course, disappointed.

"Better luck next time, then" said mom, always the optimist. "Maybe you should try for the Sandwich Islands. I've heard that there are nice cannibal people who love children over there."

That's a good mom. Always pushing her son to realize his dreams.
